Corals
Organizational Overview
Corals. Animal, Vegetable, or Mineral? Arguments have been made in favor of all three over the past several hundered years, but we seem to have settled on Animal, with a frequent symbiotic relationship with algae. Corals are the reason I'm in this hobby these days. It's like underwater gardening.

The Corals pages are separated into three, not-very-taxonomically-relevant, but generally useful categories:
- Softies
- Corals without calcium carbonate based skeletons.
- LPS: Large Polyped Stonies
- Corals that have carbonate based skeletons but whose polyps (or polyp) are much "fleshier." In general corals reffered to as LPS are slightly less finnicky than SPS corals.
- SPS: Small Polyped Stonies
- The main reefbuilders, along with LPS corals. Some of the most light demanding, finnicky corals in the sea.
